To be honest, I didn’t like the food - the spicy beef pho. The beef balls are especially soft in an unappealing way. Just not a very delicious one, maybe a 5 out of 10. It’s ok but I wouldn’t come back again. It’s also indeed pricy. $25 plus tax plus default 20% tips. $32 for a bowl of pho is imo a bit overpriced. The portion was generous though. And the waitress was friendly and prompt. Clean restroom too.

This local Vietnamese spot delivers solid comfort food with great service, though the ambiance is fairly basic. The chαΊ£ giΓ² (spring rolls) were fresh, and the rendang gΓ  (curry chicken with rice) was rich, aromatic, and deeply satisfying. While the atmosphere is a bit plain and average, the staff was welcoming, and attentive.

I come to Saigon Cafe all the time and it’s one of the most consistent spots in Jersey City for legit Vietnamese food. Everything off the grill is done right. The beef short ribs and the bone-in pork chop over rice are both super flavorful with that perfect charβ€”slightly smoky, a little caramelized, exactly how it should be. The pork chop especially is a go-to for me, and adding the eggs just takes it up another level. The fried pork spring rolls are crispy and packed with flavor, and the fresh summer rolls are always fresh and well-balanced. Also a big fan of the grilled satay chickenβ€”tender, well-marinated, and again, great char. They also have Ho Saigon craft beer which pairs really well with everything. Service is always friendly and on point, and it’s one of those places I keep coming back to without thinking twice. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area.

Just moved to the Jersey City area and Saigon Cafe is one of the first places we’ve tried… it did not disappoint! We started with the curry puffs which were 10/10 (I would go back just for these lol). I ordered the tamarind soup with salmon & it reminded me of a dish my mom makes… so good. My bf got the marinated pork from the noodle entrΓ©e section which tasted amazing. We also loved the tamarind margaritas and the taro dumpling dessert (mochi-like texture w/ a sweet coconut broth). Everything tasted authentic & comforting. Service was 10/10 and the staff gave great recommendations. Definitely coming back!

This neighborhood spot is quite nice. They offer a good selection of dishes, but the flavors are just average, and the prices are a bit steep compared to other places. On the bright side, the service is excellent. Our server offered helpful suggestions for customizing any dishes how we wanted. We ordered summer rolls (good and freshly prepared), veggie Asian noodle with beef broth (they initially gave me chicken broth and changed it to beef broth) and chao ga was good with extra veggies on the side. In general, the food was decent, and the standout service definitely enhances the experience, even though we found it slightly pricey.
